Management assessment or detailed assessment of a candidate for a top position is describing a set of methods used by organisations to:
- asses candidates who are in accordance with their individual career plan in next period, usually not longer then several months, intended to be appointed or promoted to managerial position
- among assessed candidates distinguish those with leadership potential of those who without such potential
- at candidates who show potential for managerial positions discover leadership skills which require to, prior to candidate’s promotion on such position, to be additionally developed either by the skill type or skill level
Management assessment is often a part of due diligence processes based on which possible prospective owners of the company assess possible contribution of existing management to future plans where the assessment is used as a base for decision to keep the existing management or to involve the new one.
